Many people wonder why talking to a counsellor can help, I am often asked:
"How is just talking going to help me?"
Counselling is a safe, confidential space to explore any issues that may be impacting on a person's life.
The counselling relationship is non-judgemental, objective and unique and can help to explore these issues and find ways to resolve them in a way that is individual to the client.
I offer one - to - one professional counselling and work in a Person-Centred way, which is a non-directive collaboration between client and counsellor. The building of an equal, trusting relationship enables the client to develop their inner resources as experts of their own lives and move towards overcoming obstacles and lead life as the client wishes to.
Counselling can be short-term (usually around 6 - 8 sessions) or longer term, depending on the client's individual needs.
Sessions usually last an hour, on a weekly basis in a private, comfortable room.
